Welcome to Woodside Art Studio!

Jill Pratt is a well known watercolour artist who lives in St. Catharines, in the shadow of the escarpment. It is here that she finds constant and abundant inspiration. Whether painting the shores of Sauble Beach, the rugged trails in Tobermory or the vineyards of Niagara, she hopes her watercolours reflect the love and respect she holds for the land.

Thank You

Thank you to all the wonderful art enthusiasts I met at both the Studio Tour and the August Show in Sauble Beach. Although I believe that attendance at the shows was down compared to previous years, sales showed that there are still many interested in buying new artwork. As much as this interest thrills artists, it more importantly encourages us to stretch ourselves creatively and bring fresh ideas to our  work.
I am proud to tell you that, as of October 1st, I will be represented by the Southampton Art Gallery in Southampton, Ontario. If you are travelling through the area, please look in at the Gallery. It is a beautiful space displaying the works of many fine artists.
I am off to Italy, lucky me, then ....back to the drawing board!

A New Season...Spring 2013

As many of us are enjoying the onset of warm weather. our thoughts turn to the upcoming season of art shows. As a Shoreline Artist, I look forward to the many opportunities to show and sell my newest watercolours and my hope is that they are well received.
Last year my collection centered around people...on the beach, on the court and at the cafes. It was a departure from my usual landscapes and seascapes and it challenged me as an artist. This year I am drawn back to the landscapes and scenes around the Bruce Peninsula and my love of the beach. So, a peek at my newest watercolour paintings...
FIELDS OF GOLD

The sand fencing plays an immensely important role at Sauble Beach. I have done a few paintings of the fencing...some accurate to the area...some I have taken license with....

The dunes are the most beautiful part of the beach and, while the walk-throughs are plentiful, much of the sand is blown through to the road and lost forever!

STONEY END

Lake Huron has many beautiful soft sandy beaches, but there are areas where the rocky shore juts into the lake, making wonderful places to sit and ponder the magic of it all.
