Welcome to Woodside Art Studio!

Jill Pratt is a well known watercolour artist who lives in St. Catharines, in the shadow of the escarpment. It is here that she finds constant and abundant inspiration. Whether painting the shores of Sauble Beach, the rugged trails in Tobermory or the vineyards of Niagara, she hopes her watercolours reflect the love and respect she holds for the land.

Thank you to all those who attended the August Shows! Many of my favourite paintings sold and, though I'll miss them a bit, I'm thrilled that people appreciate my work . I hope that each one of you will find pleasure in the paintings for many years to come!
A new season is approaching and I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio! I will try to keep this site updated with new paintings and, as requested, put the size and price on them!

I have 10 new watercolour paintings for this show.

What a Spring!

It has been a busy time for us all. I was accepted into BeauxArts Brampton's juried show with my painting "The Great Wall of Sauble" in March. In April, my painting "Sauble Salmon" was accepted into Southampton's Gallery juried show, Feast For the Eyes.

The painting you see here is called "Sunset Swing" and was made into one of the banners celebrating artists in Owen Sound and will fly for a year on the main street in front of City Hall.

HI. I just finished two paintings this week. The first is a familiar theme.. butterflies in the dunes at Sauble Beach. Last year I had two similar paintings which sold quickly. This one offers only one butterfly among the waving grasses. I'm titling it 'Summer Solitude'. It is watercolour, size approx. 14" x 21" unmatted/ unframed.

The second painting is a wintery scene of a sort of mystical pathway. It is watercolour- approx. 10 1/2" x 17 unmatted/unframed."

This is a new Acrylic painting for 2010. It was done at Sauble Beach in early November. Not many people were still around and the beach itself was deserted. It was cold and the painting was completed in the cottage. It has been sold.

Well, Happy New Year!

Last year was a great year in that I managed to have three summer shows with excellent feedback and many watercolours purchased. I also sold four large acrylic paintings which greatly encouraged me, as it was my first year showing acrylics. Thank you to all who attended these art shows.
